I want to lose weight. How many times have you or your friends said those words? Why do we want to lose weight? Because we don’t like what we see or how we feel with the extra pounds. We shed the pounds to become more tone and fit – a new and improved body. First, you have to change your eating habits, get rid of the fried foods, junk food, sugary drinks, and limit your salt intake, just to name some things that will need to change. Then put in low fat foods, baked fish and chicken, fruits and vegetables, water, whole grains, and exercise.
The steps needed for a new and improved body are similar to our transformation process in living our life for Christ.
- 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.
What should you put away? Disobedience, destructive behavior, negativity and sinful desires.

What should you put on? Obedience and positive Godly qualities.

How does the new man live?
- 13:4 Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, keep his commandments, obey his voice, and ye shall serve him and cleave unto him.
So, we keep tone and fit and not pack the pounds back on by exercising and having proper eating habits, and the outcome is we lose weight and build muscle. We keep the new man from resorting back to the old man by seeking God and reading his Word, the results are you are dying to your flesh and strengthening your spirit.
The process is not done overnight, but with prayer, faithfulness, sacrifice, and dedication the transformation will come.
