Where Does God Fit In?

But seek ye first

We have 24 hours in a day and 168 hours in a week and there never seems to be enough hours to get everything done. Of course, we have those mandatory things we need to do, like going to work, attending meetings, doctor appointments, preparing dinner, doing the laundry, taking care of the kids and our spouse just to name a few. And when we’re not doing all of that we are making plans for fun, but where does God fit in?

Does God get the 2 to 3 hours on Sunday morning and the one hour when you attend Bible Study? Let’s add it up, our heavenly Father gets approximately 4 hours of your 168 hours. Is this where you hold your head down in shame? Or is this when you justify the importance of your to do list? Hey, you don’t owe me any explanation, God knows ALL! And God is definitely worth more than 1 to 4 hours a week. He is our Father, he gave his son, who paid the price for our sins, taking our place on the cross. Thank you, Jesus. I know what you are going to say God understands and knows my heart. EXACTLY, he looks at the heart and if you have a heart for God where is your time for him? Let’s look at Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Where does God fit in? Where is your time for him, to be in the presence of the Lord? We will ask God for things, but we have no time to seek him. The word of God tells us in Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Make more of an effort to make time for God. Amen. Proverbs 3:6 reads, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. We’re running around doing this and that and if we would put God first and acknowledge him, he will guide us. Think of all the time wasted because you are doing it your way instead God’s way. Again, I ask where does God fit in?

Is God an afterthought or is God the center of your life and lifestyle? When people spend time with you can they tell that you spend time with the Father? What I want you to do is examine your life, how do you spend your time? Where do you spend your time? Who do you spend your time with? I’ll tell you what I’m not going to do and that is, I’m not going to just fit God in like a patient trying to get in to see the doctor at the last minute.

I can’t thank God enough for being who he is, for salvation, and for his grace and mercy that I don’t deserve, but he has given so freely. Dear Heavenly Father I love that you are in my life and you have my full attention always. I will honor you in all that I do and you are worthy to be praised. I desire to spend time with you God and nothing or no one will I put before you. God you are to be exalted above everything. And everything Lord was created for you and your glory. God I will not just fit you in my life, you will always be a priority in my life in Jesus name Amen.
