Measure Your Faith Level

Levels-of-Faith

Be honest with yourself and rate your faith level. Here are the choices:
A.      None – Never had faith.
B.      Partial faith – Sometimes I believe and then I doubt that God will come through.
C.      Abundance of faith – Activated faith, overflowing and living by faith, trusting God in every area of your life.
This is for the people that reluctantly picked A or B, rely on God, His Grace, His Promise, and His Power. Faith is the beginning of your relationship with God. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
If you still have doubt that faith works the Bible has plenty of examples of faith. The Roman Centurion who asked Jesus to heal his paralyzed servant. He was a man of authority over 100 soldiers, but recognized Jesus’ supreme authority and power Matthew 8:5-10. The Canaanite woman, Jesus healed her daughter that she said was waxed with a devil and because of her great faith her daughter was made whole, Matthew 15:22-31. These are two stories in the Bible where Jesus talks about great faith.
There are other stories of faith, Abraham willing to sacrifice his son Isaac to the Lord, Genesis 22:1-18. Gideon with his small army defeated the Midianites. The Midianites had 135,000 men and Gideon 32,000. God told him he had too many men, in the end he conquered them with only 300 men. God did not want them to boast that they did this in their own strength Judges 7:2, with fewer men they would have to have faith that God would help them.
Take a look at Luke 1:28-38 Mary the mother of Jesus accepting the plan of God that she would conceive though she was a virgin but that the Holy Ghost would come upon her. Her answer in Luke 1:38 was so profound, And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word, And the angel departed from her. All I can say to this is let thy word be done – this was FAITH!! The prophecy of Isaiah 7:14 was fulfilled.
Read more about Faith in Hebrews 11:1-40
Faith is the assurance that things even though unseen and what you expect in faith will come to pass. For all those who picked “C” who have an abundance of faith, that unshakeable faith, you already know there is no greater faith than to trust the word of God. If you are a person with no faith or partial faith – the doubter at times, work towards a new level of faith – pray and leave it with God, believe in the one who created you, trust in God’s word and watch God show up!!

No Need to Worry

Dang it. I did it again, started to worry. I have faith and God is my help. Yeah, I know all of that, but I still worry. I’m sure you have experienced worry and anxiety just like me. Therefore, I have to have scriptures ready when worry comes upon me and trials try to take over my thoughts. John 14:26 KJV But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.  God will never put on you no more than you can handle. When things are changing God is forever constant.

Remember these scriptures next time worry is on the horizon.

1Peter 5:7 KJV Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalms 55:22 KJV Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Philippians 4:6-7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

It’s a Spiritual Battle

The job interview is on the calendar. The wedding is this summer. Your date is picking you up Saturday at 7pm. You have tickets to the concert of all concerts and not to mention front row seats. Each of these events have at least one thing in common, you have to get dressed – the clothing, jewelry, shoes, tie, etc. We know how to prepare for the glitz and glamour. It’s all good. Even when dealing with the outdoor elements you put on the proper jacket or coat. You plan and prepare every detail. Good for you.

Let me ask this, how prepared are you for the unexpected? The things that are out of your control, but you have the perfect plans to get them back under control. What do you do when your perfect world seems to be crumbling right before your eyes and those rose-colored glasses are not so rosey? What do you do when you feel as if you are being attacked on every side, from your boss to your spouse to burning the dinner? Even the pizza delivery guy is late and now you’re asking yourself are they part of the conspiracy too? The car broke down or you get laid off from your job, just how much can you take? How do you handle the controversary of the adversary coming for you to the point you start to doubt that God is for you and he is not your fortress or refuge in times of trouble? Now your thoughts get real deep… nobody is going through what I’m going through. And you are right, they may not be going through the exact same issues or crisis but believe me some days are better than others and that applies to everybody.

God’s word says in Ephesians 6:11 KJV Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. The evils of this world will try to throw you off balance and then you start rehearsing scenarios in your head on how you can turn it all around. God wants us stay girded up.

Black and white - full armour of God

You have your so call important to do list and itineraries and you know you have it all together and are ready to go!!

Let something go wrong and then Christ is the furthest thing from your mind and it should be just the opposite. It’s too bad that you think you can lay down your religion and deal with the mess and then when you’re done pick your religion right back up. It doesn’t work like that. You can’t decide you will be a disciple of Christ when things are going great and then do your flesh thing when it is not going so great for you. Do it the right way, put on the full armour of God.

We are fighting spiritual battles. Ephesians 6:12KJV For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Having on the full armour of God, you will not be shaken or distraught, but strong in the Lord and the power of his might. Are you fussing and cussing? Or are you praying and praising? Are you believing in the protection God provides or are you showing the fullness of your flesh? Put your attitude away, this is not about your flesh. Put on the full armour of God.

Ephesians 6:13-17 KJV Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Armor of God

No attire whether it be for an interview, wedding or date can compare to the full armour of God. This type of attire is temporary, at the end of the day it’s coming off. When the enemy attacks we tend to take it personal, but don’t forget we are in a spiritual battle. Put on the full armour of God because life without it, will make it hard to stand against the enemy. The full armour of God, have it on at all times. Be ready at all times.

2 Things That Pleases God

Have you ever given some serious thought to what pleases God? I can tell you this, if you don’t have faith you can’t please God. It tells you right in the word…. Hebrews 11:6 KJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. So, you know what that means you got to get your faith level up!!

increaseourfaith

And to find out what else pleases God turn to Jeremiah 9:24 KJV But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord.  God wants a personal relationship with you and this verse is the perfect invitation to get closer to God. Seek God, get wisdom and understanding.

Psalm 149:4 KJV For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Consider your best friend and how that person became your best friend, you spend time with them, getting to know them and best friends as we all know, practically talk every day. Doesn’t God deserve that and more? Spend time understanding and knowing him and reading his word daily. It doesn’t have to be a lot, but make sure you read. Okay, I hear you. You don’t get it. So, may I suggest you get the Life Application Study Bible, because this book right here simplifies the word – you will not be disappointed! Also, pick up the Strong’s Concordance. Now you know what you have to do, so noooo more excuses.

Trusting God

Journey of FaithHow many times have you been asked to go somewhere and then you started asking questions before you decided you would go? Well, Rebekah did go and so did Isaiah. They both said in their own way, I will go and said it without hesitation, which is absolutely remarkable.

Rebekah (Genesis 24:58) KJV And they called Rebekah and said unto her, wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.

A little background on the story, Abraham sent his servant to find a wife for his son Isaac and God lead the servant to Rebekah and with the family’s blessing she went with the servant. She didn’t appear to fear rejection or fear the unknown, she trusted God with her present situation and future.

Isaiah (Isaiah 6:8) KJV Also, I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Isaiah was willing to face danger and opposition. Rejection was on the horizon. He was going to speak the words of the Lord to a sinful Judah, a message of judgement and the need for the people of Judah to repent.

In both scriptures they did not think about themselves, it was about trusting God and obedience. Are you willing to go where God tells you to go? Do you trust God in all things or do you pick and choose which situations to trust God with?

As believers we have to stand on the Word of God and know God is with us. Step out on faith, step out of your comfort zone and know that he is God. If God tells you to go know that he has prepared the way. Trust God!!
