We Can Stand Out

I am Deeply loved 2

We want to be soooo different and stand out from the crowd and yet at the same time we want to be like our favorite celebrities and a few of our friends. Which one is it? Do we want to stand out or be like someone else? I’m here to tell you, that you can have them both. Follow righteousness and holiness, JESUS – and he is far bigger than any fame or fortune. And following Jesus (as you know requires obedience) we will stand out!!

We are a peculiar people and we belong to God. It says it in His word.

1Peter 2:9 KJV But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light…

1Pet 2:9 NIV But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

We will stand out because we are born again, transformed, and filled with the Holy Spirit. Being a child of God, you are different and set apart to do great things. Go do something great!!

ALL FOR LOVE

Actions speak louder than words, so don’t just say I love you show them that you do love them. Jacob loved Rachel so much he worked a total of 14 years in order to marry her. It was initially supposed to be seven years. Genesis 29:15,18 KJV And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be? And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. But her father Laban didn’t keep his word and manipulated the situation and Jacob ends up with her sister Leah, because it was custom in those days that the eldest be married off before the younger sister. Now did I say Jacob loved Rachel? And to prove it, he worked another seven years. Genesis 29:30 KJV And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet another seven years. WOW!!

If you think 14 years was something great, then let’s meditate on this one, the greatest act of love is what God did for all of us …

John 3:16 -17 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

We say we love God. However, are you willing to do whatever it takes to show God that you love him? Do you love him enough to give him more of your time? Do you love him enough to spend more time in the word? Do you love him enough to adjust your schedule to get up earlier to spend time with him before the chaotic day gets into full swing? Do you love him enough to live by faith? Do you love him enough be obedient, not for a couple of months or a few years, but as long as you have breath? Let your actions show God how much you love him.

Be Blessed

A Prayer For You

Sitting here not knowing what to write about, but I do have a couple of topics in mind. What I know for sure is I don’t want it to be about me. I want to do God’s will and write about what God puts in my heart. This blog was created to help others draw closer to God and for those who don’t know our Savior Jesus Christ this blog will help them start their spiritual journey. Just know the God of hope and glory is with you. I love the Lord and want to tell of his goodness. I pray for you all.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for this day. Lord thank you for loving and keeping us. Thank you for the hedge of protection that surrounds us daily. God order our steps in everything we do. Lord I pray for the leaders of this country and that they show compassion for every human being and they begin to pray before every decision is made. God bless every family, supply their every need, and give them an inner peace and joy. Lord we know nothing is too hard for you and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We are victorious!  God you sit high and look low and you are in control.  We trust you Lord. God, we love you and we give you all the glory, honor, and praise in Jesus name Amen.

God’s Law Still in Question

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11 KJV

Moses is dead and Joshua is to lead the Israelites into the Promise Land and God lays down the ground rules for the law. Joshua 1:8 KJV This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

God is telling the people of Israel get my law in you, be obedient to my law and blessings will come.

Now before you go shaking your head and motioning your hand for me to stop right there because you say we are not under the law, let me explain. Then feel free to use my comment section because I would love to hear from you and I’m always willing to learn. Just remember everything we do or say we should do it in love.

Okay back to the law.

Are you thinking about Romans 6:14 KJV?  When Paul says, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. We can’t leave out Roman 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. What Paul is telling you is that you are not under the law, but under grace with respect to your salvation. That does not mean you can sin. And since sinners are saved by God’s grace through faith in Christ many believe they are free from sin or free to sin. That is not true. The law is used for instructions to help us live in obedience to God’s word. While Christ was on earth, he was obedient at all times, showing love through his actions.

Read Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. His spirit dwells in us, to help us and if we believe in Christ and who he is, the son of God, who died for us then we will and should have the desire to please him. Be obedient to the law.

Jesus states in Matthew 5:17 -18 KJV Think not that I come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

There are three types of laws:

  • Civil Law– dealt with Israel’s worship but the principles behind these laws are to guide our conduct. These laws were more for the nation of Israel.
  • Ceremonial Law– these laws covered cleanliness, priestly laws, feasts, and festivals and how to love and worship God. The last part of that to love and worship God we should still do today.
  • Moral Law – this includes the 10 Commandments and they are timeless, this is the nature and will of God.

And one of the greatest benefits of the Bible is to know that it holds our guidelines for living in obedience to what is required of us to please God. God’s word is truth. John 17:17 KJV Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 14:15 KJV If you love me, keep my commandments.

Matthew: 22:36-40 KJV Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Galatians 5:14 KJV For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

1John 5:3 KJV For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. Let’s go to the Life Application Study Bible for this one, Loving God means keeping his commandments and really, that isn’t difficult. It breaks it down further than that (you really should get this study Bible) Jesus never promised that obeying him would be easy. But the hard work and self-discipline of serving Christ is no burden to those who love him. And if our load starts to feel heavy, we can always trust Christ to help us bear it.

We don’t have to question if God’s law is relevant in today’s society. Like I said before, moral laws are timeless. Know that it is and abide by it.  And we do this by Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

God’s word is law. Live in obedience and love one another, so you may receive the blessings and promises of God.

Be Blessed
