Lean on God for Safety and Security

The pandemic is raging and everyone is in its path. Safety and security are fading depending on who you ask. There seems to be no answers in sight to end this pandemic and due to the unknowns of the virus, it would be ludicrous to claim that we have a whole lot of knowledge on the matter. We can all attest to the fact that this pandemic has taken lives and held our economy hostage. What we needed was someone to recognize the seriousness of it from the beginning and think and listen to the people with expertise in handling pandemics. Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety Proverbs 11:14 KJV.

When leadership doesn’t want to take the advice of wise counsel we fall. A true leader will ask for advice from experts, from qualified individuals because no one person has all the answers. In addition to asking for advice, one must then adhere to what is being suggested for fixing the problem. If we have learned one thing in these current times, it’s to surround ourselves with wise counsel.

The nation was caught off guard and leaders immediately denied there was a problem. So, one of the biggest questions of 2020 is where do we go from here? Man can’t get a grip on this pandemic, but all I can say is Jesus. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV. Jesus is a Counsellor; he counsels us from God’s perspective. Jesus doesn’t tell us what he thinks, it is the mind of God, his Father, that he uses to counsel us.

If Jesus is listening to his Father, it’s probably a good idea that we do the same. We should go to God with our cares and concerns and listen to his wise counsel to get us through things we don’t understand. Listening to the Holy Spirit, allowing it to guide us when we are unsure of our safety and security. Now that ignorance has come into play, and appears to be on repeat, another big question has to be answered, who will be safe? But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil Proverbs 1:33 KJV. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46:1 KJV. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 KJV.

Pray. Hold onto your faith. Hold onto God and his word because he will never leave you or forsake you. He is omniscience an all-knowing God. Trust God’s process. Trust in him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah. Psalm 62:8 KJV

7 THINGS TO HELP KIDS BE LIKE CHRIST

Train Up A Child

Kids want to be loved and have fun. So simple right? It should be simple because kids don’t come into the world with the mentality to plan to do evil. These behaviors are taught by people they know or have some form of interaction with daily or periodically. Maybe over hearing conversations from unknown individuals in passing. You may think you have it under control by limiting the number of hours in front of the television and on social media or playing with friends and tech toys, but unfortunately that is not enough. You see, on the other side of that door is a life filled with bad influences and temptations and the things that are not of God. But it’s not too late to train up your kids in the way they should go and create a change in the atmosphere one child at a time.

Let’s get started!!

PARENT PREPARATION

Proverbs 3:5 KJV Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

1Cor 3:19 KJV For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

We need God’s wisdom and knowledge to help with our children and with all things.

Proverbs 2:6 KJV For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of the mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 8:11 KJV For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared.

2Tim. 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

The word of God has to be in you, a part of who you are… parents obeying and applying the word of God. You are the first example of Christ for your kids.

(Below is a list of books and scriptures, but seek the word of God with your kids and find the ones suitable for them to understand.)

7 THINGS TO HELP KIDS BE LIKE CHRIST

  1. Read the Bible with your kids – help children build strength and character.
  2. Love – Share with them that God is love. 1Cor.13:4, 1Cor. 16:14, and 1John4:19
  3. Pray – Teach them about talking to God and spending personal time with Him in prayer. Jeremiah 29:12
  4. Praise – Let God know you adore him and show your appreciation of who He is and all that He has done, is doing and will do. Psalm 135:1, Psalm 150:6, and Psalm 148:13
  5. Have Empathy – Teaching children to have empathy to put themselves in others shoes. Having compassion and understanding for others because you see things the way God sees them. Because someone is not like you or is less fortunate doesn’t make them not important in God’s eyes. So, try to understand what they may be going through by envisioning yourself in that situation. Col. 3:12 and 1Pet. 3:8
  6. Be Giving – Be ready to act, be a giver of time, money clothing, or food to help those in need. For example, do volunteer work in a food pantry. Prov. 11:25, Prov. 22:9, Acts 20:35, James 2:15-16, and Deut. 15:10
  7. Forgiveness – To understand that we all fall short and need forgiveness. If you want God to forgive you, you must be willing to forgive others. Ephesians 4:32 and Matthew 6:14

We want kids that go out in the world and in every situation before they act, they ask the question –

What Would Jesus Do?

A Prayer For You

Sitting here not knowing what to write about, but I do have a couple of topics in mind. What I know for sure is I don’t want it to be about me. I want to do God’s will and write about what God puts in my heart. This blog was created to help others draw closer to God and for those who don’t know our Savior Jesus Christ this blog will help them start their spiritual journey. Just know the God of hope and glory is with you. I love the Lord and want to tell of his goodness. I pray for you all.

Dear Heavenly Father thank you for this day. Lord thank you for loving and keeping us. Thank you for the hedge of protection that surrounds us daily. God order our steps in everything we do. Lord I pray for the leaders of this country and that they show compassion for every human being and they begin to pray before every decision is made. God bless every family, supply their every need, and give them an inner peace and joy. Lord we know nothing is too hard for you and we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We are victorious!  God you sit high and look low and you are in control.  We trust you Lord. God, we love you and we give you all the glory, honor, and praise in Jesus name Amen.
