People with Faith

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 KJV. How is our faith produced? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17 KJV. Having faith pleases God and the lack of it or none at all, does not please Him. In Hebrews 11:6 KJV, it tells us, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. If you want to know who had faith, read all of Hebrews Chapter 11, KJV. There were many who had faith from Abel to Rahab.

I want to touch on this one scripture concerning faith. James 1:6 KJV, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. When you ask anything of God you can’t go behind that and doubt that God heard you or that He will not answer your prayers. One minute you say you believe, then the answer you’re waiting for hasn’t happened in “YOUR” timing, so doubt sets in and faith fades away. This is not faith. We should always want our desires to line up with His purpose for our lives. Amen.

I know two people personally, that I believe are walking by faith and living on purpose. One is my sister-in-law, Michelle Gibson; she has written a book called “The Invitation Allowing God in Before the I Do.” When you hear her tell her story about how this book came to fruition, you will know she trusted God and walks by faith. She could have stopped writing after the first chapter. She could have said I’m drawing a blank and don’t know what to write or where to begin. She probably asked herself, what should the title be?  Or this is too hard and taking up too much time, so forget it. What I know for sure is Michelle didn’t take the credit, she gives all the glory to God, because she knows where her help comes from and the God we serve. Get the book on Amazon it will bless you!

The second person is my friend Kim Stevens, who makes the most delicious cupcakes ever!! The name of her business is gigis_sweet_treatz!!!  Check out her Instagram (IG) page with pics of all the goodies and get ready to place your order. The cupcakes come in all kind of flavors from Apple Pie to Red Velvet and everything in between. She puts her heart into it and you will know it by the presentation and the great taste. God has given her so much creativity and an entrepreneur spirit, that she is able to provide a beautiful service to those who are celebrating all sorts of occasions. Kim is doing her thing and walking by faith. I don’t think she is sitting around wondering if someone is going to buy her cupcakes? Will I have repeat customers? God will send the people and believe me he has; she just keeps doing what God has giving her the ability and gift to do and giving God the glory.

A little side note, because you can’t see the future or know all the steps or outcome doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go for it. So, pray, listen to God, be obedient to what He has called you to do, have faith and MOVE!!

Let’s talk about when you think you have faith but nothing happens. Remember the man that asked Jesus to cure his son? Matthew 17: 14-20 KJV, He said to Jesus, the disciples could not cure him. The disciples asked Jesus why they couldn’t heal him? Let’s not forget they were given authority to heal, but they didn’t understand or recognize the power of God and their faith and that nothing would be impossible. I hope you get this – you can move mountains if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed. It’s in the WORD.

I hope Kim and Michelle are an inspiration for you to work your faith. Be obedient to God’s word and demonstrate your faith. Start that business, write a book, start that blog, go for that promotion, go back to school, whatever God has for you is for you. Have Faith!!

Be Blessed
